#Fresh Lime Water story
Fresh Lime Water
The other day I was preparing fresh lime water for the first time. I ended up adding five times the amount of lemon than needed. It was a disaster. It tasted so sour that one sip of it would have been enough to make a dinosaur dance. I had to correct it anyhow. How I wish I could remove some lemon juice from water to make it taste perfect again! But alas! Some things can never be undone. Some things can never be changed. There was no way to remove the extra lime. So what was the solution then? The only way to correct this was to add four more glasses of water and dilute the lemon juice to make five glasses of fresh lime water.
This made me think. Sometimes we cannot undo some things that have gone wrong in life. Some wrong decisions, wrong choices, wrong investments, wrong actions, wrong associations, wrong words or wrong doings can never be undone. So what is the solution then? When you cannot correct what is wrong, do not waste more time over it. It is like attempting to remove lemon from water. Instead, get busy in adding so many right things in your life that the wrong seems insignificant.
We all have a negative side to ourselves. We may not be able to remove or correct all our negativities. But we can definitely continue adding positive thoughts, positive reading and positive people in our lives and dilute the negativity. We all have to deal with some easy people and some difficult people in our lives. Do not waste time trying to change the difficult people. You will drain all your emotional energy in vain. Instead spend more time with the pleasant positive happy people and the difficult people will not affect you any more.
We all have been through lows in life and we cannot change that. But if we now add new highs in life, we will dilute the lows, isn't it? In the end life will seem 'mostly high'. We all have scars in life. We all have been through some pain in life. We all have made mistakes in life. We all have unfulfilled dreams, unanswered prayers. We cannot remove these bitter memories from life but we could get busy making new happy memories now.
Sometimes we wonder, why do bad things happen to good people? Why do good people suffer? It is because of the same reason. Even if you have no bad karma in this life, you cannot undo the bad karma of your past lives. You have to pay for it. Even good people have sometimes succumbed to the bad and unintentionally done some bad karma in the past. Karma is a tough one. It will make even good people pay for it. You cannot undo that bad karma. But yes, you can now make sure you add a lot of good karma now and dilute the bad karma. Do so much good karma that the bad karma gets overshadowed. Your sufferings will then end forever.
Everything in your life will never be perfect. Do not waste too much time correcting what is wrong. Get busy doing the right things.

#Story
Please read: Very Inspiring
A wise old man was sitting at the river bank when he saw a cat that had fallen into the water, flailing around, trying to save itself from drowning.
The man decided to save the cat. He stretched his hand out but was scratched by the cat. He pulled his hand back in pain.
However, a minute later he stretched his hand out again to save the cat, but it scratched him again, and again he pulled his hand back in pain.
Another minute later he was yet again trying for the third time!!
A man, who was nearby watching what was happening, yelled out: "O wise man, you have not learned your lesson the first time, nor the second time, and now you are trying to save the cat a third time?"
The wise man paid no heed to that man's scolding, and kept on trying until he managed to save the cat.
He then walked over to the man, and patted his shoulder saying: "My son.. it is in the cat's nature to scratch, and it is in my nature to love and have sympathy.
Why do you want me to let the cat's nature overcome mine !?!!
Treat people according to your nature, not according to theirs, no matter what they are like and no matter how numerous are their actions that harm you and cause you hurt sometimes.
And do not pay heed to all the voices that loudly call out to you to leave behind your good qualities merely because the other party is not deserving of your noble actions.
So never regret the moments you gave happiness to someone, even if that person did not deserve it.

#Sustenance
Once an old man was sitting in his usual place, dhikr of Almighty on his lips.
Slightly pre-occupied with the loaf of bread which was going to be his sustenance for the day.
Always the same..... One loaf of bread.
And Moosaa happened to be walking past. The old man thought - "Here is my chance to send a message to Almighty...."
So he greeted Moosaa, and said somewhat falteringly:
"Oh Holy Man, when you are speaking to your Creator, can you ask Him to increase my (sustenance).... For so long now, all I have is a single loaf of bread per day.
I long for more. Can I not have more than this....? If you ask him Oh Moosaa, surely HE will grant me more....."
Without hesitation the reply he got from Moosaa, that his question would be put to Almighty.
And so it was, and the reply that Moosaa, received was that the Old Man's lot in life was to receive one loaf of bread per day.
That had been written for the Old Man for all his life.
The next time prophet saw the old man, and he passed on the message that 'one loaf of bread is all that he would receive, as it was written so, in his destiny'.
The old man was overjoyed. He clapped his hands with glee. Surprised by this reaction Moosaa, asked him the reason for his joy. The man replied, "If it is written, then so it shall be!!!! I have nothing to worry about. At least I will always receive one loaf of bread for the rest of my life......" and with that he went back to his prayers.
Now as the months passed, the man's tranquility increased with the knowledge that he need not worry about his sustenance. This enabled him to focus more on his remembrance of God, which led to him having less time to focus on food, and even less time to eat. So, from eating one loaf of bread, he barely managed to eat half a loaf.
What remained of the loaf of bread every day, was put in a corner. Soon, the pile in the corner began to increase, until it became a huge heap.
One morning a herdsman was passing through the village and stopped to speak to the old man. He was looking for hay for his livestock - but there was none to be found.
The old man said to him : "Why don't you take the stale bread that is lying in that heap, soften it with water and give it to your animals....." The herdsman did this and his herd happily ate every last crumb.
The herdsman, to show his gratitude, gave the old man a nanny goat, and went on his way.
Days passed into months and a few years had gone by when Moosaa, happened to be passing this way again. To his astonishment he found the that the spot where the old man used to sit had been transformed into a garden.
There were fruit trees growing nearby, and animals grazing not very far away. There was a field with grain, and a general atmosphere of abundance and well being. Moosa, found out that all this belonged to the old man.
Puzzled, because he knew what was written in the old man's destiny - a single loaf of bread per day - prophet went on his way determined to find out what this was all about.
"How could this be?" "A loaf a day is all that was written.........., yet he had so much more ..."
The answer .... "One loaf of bread was the sustenance that had been written for the old man. The fruit trees, the live stock and field of crops were the blessings which came from has acceptance of what had been written, as his lot in life."
It was his reward for his complete trust in Almighty. The (Abundance) was the result of his shift in focus from what he wanted, to enjoying what he had, to such a degree, that even after eating as much as he wanted, he still had some left. His needs had become so small. The abundance this created in the old man's life was compounded by his generosity and willingness to share what he had.
So Rizq is written. But, Barkat comes when we Trust in Almighty, when we are generous with what we have , and are grateful.

#The sentence of a wise Judge
From Ancient China: 'The sentence of a wise Judge'
A farmer in ancient China had a neighbor who was a hunter, and who owned ferocious and poorly trained hunting dogs. They jumped the fence frequently and chased the farmer's lambs. The farmer asked his neighbor to keep his dogs in check, but this fell on deaf ears.
One day the dogs again jumped the fence and attacked and severely injured several of the lambs.
The farmer had had enough, and went to town to consult a judge who listened carefully to the story and said: "I could punish the hunter and instruct him to keep his dogs chained or lock them up. But you would lose a friend and gain an enemy. Which would you rather have, friend or foe for a neighbor?" The farmer replied that he preferred a friend.
"Alright, I will offer you a solution that keeps your lambs safe, and which will keep your a neighbor a friend." Having heard the judge's solution, the farmer agreed.
Once at home, the farmer immediately put the judge's suggestions to the test. He took three of his best lambs and presented them to his neighbor's three small sons, who were beside themselves with joy and began to play with them. To protect his son's newly acquired playthings, the hunter built a strong kennel for his dogs. Since then, the dogs never again bothered the farmer's lambs.
Out of gratitude for the farmer's generosity toward his sons, the hunter often shared the game he had hunted with the farmer. The farmer reciprocated by sending the hunter lamb meat and cheese he had made. Within a short time the neighbors became good friends.
A saying in old China went something like this, "One can win over and influence people the best with gestures of kindness and compassion." A similar American saying: "One catches more flies with honey than with vinegar!
