The Eagle does not fight the snake on the ground.
It picks it up into the sky and changes the battle ground, and then it releases the snake into the sky.

The snake has no stamina, no power and no balance in the air.
It is useless, weak and vulnerable unlike on the ground where it is powerful wise and deadly.


Take your fight into the spiritual realm by praying and when you are in the spiritual realm God takes over your battles.

Don't fight the enemy in his comfort zone, change the battle grounds like the Eagle and let God take charge through your earnest prayer.

You'll be assured of clean victory.

#Closing 2015

CLOSING 2015

One always has to know when a stage comes to an end.

If we insist on staying longer than the necessary time, we lose the happiness and the meaning of the other stages we have to go through.

Closing cycles, shutting doors, ending chapters – whatever name we give it, what matters is to leave in the past the moments of life that have finished.

Did you lose your job? Has a loving relationship come to an end? Did you leave your parents' house? Gone to live abroad? Has a long-lasting friendship ended all of a sudden?

You can spend a long time wondering why this has happened.

You can tell yourself you won't take another step until you find out why certain things that were so important and so solid in your life have turned into dust, just like that.

But such an attitude will be awfully stressing for everyone involved: your parents, your husband or wife, your friends, your children, your sister.

Everyone is finishing chapters, turning over new leaves, getting on with life, and they will all feel bad seeing you at a standstill.

Things pass, and the best we can do is to let them really go away.

That is why it is so important (however painful it may be!) to destroy souvenirs, move, give lots of things away to orphanages, sell or donate the books you have at home.

Everything in this visible world is a manifestation of the invisible world, of what is going on in our hearts – and getting rid of certain memories also means making some room for other memories to take their place.

Let things go. Release them. Detach yourself from them.

Nobody plays this life with marked cards, so sometimes we win and sometimes we lose.

Do not expect anything in return, do not expect your efforts to be appreciated, your genius to be discovered, your love to be understood.

Stop turning on your emotional television to watch the same program over and over again,
the one that shows how much you suffered from a certain loss: that is only poisoning you, nothing else.

Nothing is more dangerous than not accepting love relationships that are broken off,
work that is promised but there is no starting date,
decisions that are always put off waiting for the "ideal moment."

Before a new chapter is begun, the old one has to be finished: tell yourself that what has passed will never come back.

Remember that there was a time when you could live without that thing or that person – nothing is irreplaceable,
a habit is not a need.
This may sound so obvious, it may even be difficult, but it is very important.

Closing cycles. Not because of pride, incapacity or arrogance, but simply because that no longer fits your life.

Shut the door, change the record, clean the house, shake off the dust.

Stop being who you were, and change into who you are.

#Story

Love this story so much:

A woman baked chapatti (roti) for members of her family and an extra one for a hungry passerby.

She kept the extra chapatti on the window sill, for whosoever would take it away. Every day, a hunchback came and took away the chapatti.
Instead of expressing gratitude, he muttered the following words as he went his way:

" ‪#The_Evil_yoU_Do_Remains_with_yoU‬:
‪#The_Good_yoU_Do_Comes_Back_to_yoU‬! "

This went on, day after day.
Every day, the hunchback came, picked up the chapatti and uttered the words:
"The evil you do, remains with you:
The good you do, comes back to you!"

The woman felt irritated.

"Not a word of gratitude,"
she said to herself…

"Everyday this hunchback utters this jingle! What does he mean?"

One day, exasperated, she decided to do away with him.
"I shall get rid of this hunchback,"
she said.
And what did she do?
She added poison to the chapatti she prepared for him!

As she was about to keep it on the window sill, her hands trembled. "What is this I am doing?" she said.
Immediately, she threw the chapatti into the fire, prepared another one and kept it on the window sill.
As usual, the hunchback came, picked up the chapatti and muttered the words:
"The evil you do, remains with you: The good you do, comes back to you!"

The hunchback proceeded on his way, blissfully unaware of the war raging in the mind of the woman. Every day, as the woman placed the chapatti on the window sill, she offered a prayer for her son who had gone to a distant place to seek his fortune.
For many months, she had no news of him.. She prayed for his safe return.

That evening, there was a knock on the door. As she opened it, she was surprised to find her son standing in the doorway. He had grown thin and lean. His garments were tattered and torn. He was hungry, starved and weak.

As he saw his mother, he said, "Mom, it's a miracle I'm here. While I was but a mile away,
I was so famished that I collapsed. I would have died, but just then an old hunchback passed by.
I begged of him for a morsel of food, and he was kind enough to give me a whole chapatti.

As he gave it to me, he said,
"This is what I eat everyday : today, I shall give it to you, for your need is greater than mine!"

" As the mother heard those words, her face turned pale.
She leaned against the door for support.
She remembered the poisoned chapatti that she had made that morning.
Had she not burnt it in the fire,
it would have been eaten by her own son, and he would have lost his life!

It was then that she realized the significance of the words:

"The evil you do remains with you:
The good you do, comes back to you!"

Do good and Don't ever stop doing good, even if it is not appreciated at that time.

Great Read - Which Parent Wouldn't Identify With This !


"I just realized that while children are dogs—loyal and affectionate—teenagers are cats.

It's so easy to be a dog owner. You feed it, train it, boss it around. It puts its head on your knee and gazes at you as if you were a Rembrandt painting. It bounds indoors with enthusiasm when you call it.

Then, around age 13, your adoring puppy turns into a big old cat. When you tell it to come inside, it looks amazed, as if wondering who died and made you emperor.

Instead of dogging your footsteps, it disappears. You won't see it again until it gets hungry…then it pauses on its sprint through the kitchen long enough to turn up its nose at whatever you're serving, swishing its tail and giving you an aggrieved look until you break out the tuna again.

When you reach out to ruffle its head in that old affectionate gesture, it twists away from you, then gives you a blank stare as if it is trying to remember where it has seen you before.

You, not realizing your dog is now a cat, think something must be desperately wrong with it. It seems so antisocial, so distant, sort of depressed. It won't go on family outings. Since you're the one who raised it, taught it to fetch, stay and sit on command, you assume you did something wrong. Flooded with guilt and fear, you redouble your efforts to make your pet behave.

Only now you're dealing with a cat, so everything that worked before now has the opposite result. Call it, and it runs away. Tell it to sit, and it jumps on the counter. The more you go toward it, wringing your hands, the more it moves away.

Instead of continuing to act like a dog owner, you must learn to behave like a cat owner. Put a dish of food near the door and let it come to you. But remember that a cat needs your help and affection too. Sit still and it will come, seeking that warm, comforting lap it has not entirely forgotten. Be there to open the door for it.

One day your grown up child will walk into the kitchen, give you a big kiss and say,"You've been on your feet all day. Let me get those dishes for you."

Then, you'll realize your cat is a dog again."

#Forgive

How to forgive::
Forgiving is not only difficult, it is almost impossible as long as you think that someone is a culprit.

But if you see that person, whomsoever you want to forgive, not as a culprit but as a victim of situations, a victim of ignorance, or just a postman to deliver what was due to you, you don't need to forgive them. They just simply disappear from your domain.

When a postman has delivered you a parcel, that's it, you don't think about the postman. You are with the parcel, whether you like it or not. You do whatever you want to do with the parcel.

This is exactly the attitude you should have.

When you get a nasty email, you don't bang or throw your computer or laptop because you've got a nasty email.
Whatever email came, the laptop just reflects that. That's all!

Similarly, people are just like laptops.
You don't need to forgive them. You simply need to have a better understanding.

If you ask them, sometimes, they also may not know why they behaved that way, why they did what they did to hurt you.

#Emotional vampire

Have you ever heard the term 'Emotion Vampire'?

An emotion vampire is a person who you care about but they are almost impossible to please. No matter what you do, no matter how much you give, no matter what sacrifices you make, no matter how much you co-operate…they always make you believe you are NOT good enough.

Interactions with them, leave you emotionally drained. Verbally you may or may not be abused, gesture wise, energy wise, attention wise, behaviour wise, you feel abused.

Your relationship with them started out well. Over a period of time they became important to you. Now you feel taken for granted. Interactions with them makes you feel a 'void' inside.

Perhaps, he is your college friend who calls you only to complain at length about his bad marriage or poor work conditions and completely ignores asking about you.

Perhaps, she is your relative, who calls you only when she needs someone to crib about other family members or to grumble about her child who is not studying well or to lament how no one understands her or how her husband does not give her time at all.

Perhaps, it is a acquaintance who always asks for advice, never does anything about that advice and never returns your calls.

Perhaps, is is your child / spouse / in-laws / parents, who do not truly care about your challenges and feelings. They are selfishly and exclusively focussed on you meeting their expectations and on you taking great care of them.

On their best day, they might throw a few crumbs at you. On their worst day, they will scream and belittle you and claim they fed you a feast.

Funnily, you find yourself making excuses for them….
She was in a bad mood today, that's why...
He had a difficult childhood, that's why….
One day, they will understand.
Next time, she won't behave like this.
He is still a child.
After all, we should not give up or lose hope.
Why to take 'panga'? Jaane de na!
Her nature is good, just that……………
He said sorry na! Lets give him another chance….
She does not mean what she said.

Slowly, their insensitive behaviour makes it harder for you to make excuses. Chances are, not knowing what to do, you see this as your 'fate'. Something inside of you, a huge part of your bubbling energy, gets locked down. You become morose. Your state becomes melancholia.

The truth is some relationships are purely for circumstances. A college hostel room mate, a community get together committee, co-passengers, a co-worker etc.

When circumstances change, these relationships may not work. When college ends, when jobs change, when vehicles change, those friendships may not work. That's ok. That's the way life is. Attempting to desperately hold on to circumstantial relationships may create toxic moments and toxic memories.

For some people, you are just a circumstance relationship.

If you find you have a emotional vampire in your life, here is what we suggest you do. Make a list of positive and negative things that you get from the relationship. Does the negative outstrip the positive? If that is the truth, it is time to evaluate the relationship. You need not give up on that person completely. However, you must take a few steps away and look at it fresh. Find sources of bustling joy and sources of dynamic energy in your life. Most importantly, involve yourself in something that desires your COMPLETE devotion. Mind you, I am not saying find a distraction. I am saying DO something with DEVOTION. The more long term it is, the more apt it is.

This way, you will create some necessary space between you and your emotional vampires. This will do you a world of good.

If you are not going to do so, there is only one explanation. You must be still 'believing' in the excuses you are making for them.

Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose exhorted, "Give me blood. I will give you freedom."

My dearest friends, if you are giving your life, your attention, your energy (metaphorically - your blood) in a relationship, it must lead to freedom not slavery.

Choose Emotional boosters not emotional vampires.
Choose Happiness not helplessness.

#Karma

QUESTION: Do you believe in karma? What about "family karma" or "ancestral karma"? Aren't we all forgiven and wiped clean when we pass over? Why would my karma be affected by my parents and/or why would mine affect my kids?

ANSWER: Yes, karma is real and has been put in place to balance universal laws. The Creator loves us so much, we have been given "free will" to create in any way we choose; regardless if it is positive or negative. Depending on whether our choices are aligned with the laws of the universe will determine the quality of the energy that is returned to us. Karma is simply energy balance reflecting CAUSE and EFFECT. Karma has not been put in place to punish humans, however, we can not escape the consequences of our choices. Every action, every word and every thought is recorded in our soul's energy field and will reflect the quality of our vibrational frequency. Low vibrational beings radiate a lot of "karma" or off pitched vibrations in their energy field that will need to be transmuted into a higher vibration in the future by deciding to become CONSCIOUS co-creators who choose from their own free will to align themselves with the integrity of the universal laws for the highest and best good of ALL involved. Once we decide to generate actions that evolve our soul's, and we choose not to "revolve" in the same unconscious repetitive behavioral patterns, we will begin to raise our vibrational frequency. This shift in our energy will change the quality of our life circumstances and what is created for ourselves in the future based on the law of cause and effect.

When you create karma for your self…..it is your karma, and it is YOU who will need to balance the distorted energy within your energy field. However, we also have generational karma we receive from our family line that is embedded in the DNA that we incarnate into. This type of karma occurs because our family lines have had lifetimes of unconscious, repetitive patterns that they have had a hard time evolving out of. Generational karma is easy to figure out…..just look at your family patterns. Alcoholism, Food and Drug Addictions, Depression, Abuse, Racism, Strong Religious Beliefs, Victim Consciousness…..these are all aspects of generational karma we carry within our DNA that is still being played out today over and over again. However, you are not a victim! "YOU" chose your family lineage to incarnate into…..your parents did not choose you. You chose them and they agreed to the soul contract based on the soul lessons you wanted to learn from them. Our generational patterns and karma are the very things we are here to heal! When we heal these karmic imprints within ourselves, we open pathways within our genetic lineage to also do the same through their own free will choice. During this transformational time on Earth, many of us who are highly evolved souls, chose very difficult family lineages to incarnate into because it is these lineages that would provide us a tremendous amount of soul's growth if we were able to break free from these patterns and it would also help our family lines break free from their bondage as well.

Whatever karma we have accumulated remains with us lifetime after lifetime until we heal the vibrational distortion within us. This is part of the laws of evolution. When we cross over into the spiritual dimensions, we are filled with The Creator's unconditional love and a large portion of our being is purified. However, our karma, or off pitched vibrations within our energy fields, remains with us and this energy will determine the quality of our life in our next incarnation. This is why it is so important for us to not hang onto unforgiveness with another person because this will only harm us and could possibly create karma within our being. Once we understand the universal laws, we will see that nothing goes unnoticed in the world of energy and that all actions are recorded within the soul's energy field so if someone has harmed us they will reap the return of their energy based on the law of cause and effect. In addition, if something negative happens to us…….what makes us think this is not the ramifications of our own energy being returned to us? Regardless of what  happens, it is better to remain in a state of gratitude because a negative interaction with someone may have been a gift from the universe that helped you balance your negative karma and heal the karmic miasim within your energy field so you could have a more balanced, loving future. In addition, it is also wise to not get overly involved or attached to other people's crisis…..this is all in perfect divine orchestration as each one of us are learning lessons, evolving our soul's and balancing our karma.

#The secret of the rose

The Secret Of The Rose

A new minister  was  walking  with  an  older, more  seasoned  minister  in  the  garden  one  day.

Feeling  a  bit  insecure  about  what  God  had for  him  to  do,  he  asked  the  older  preacher  for some  advice.  The  older  preacher  walked  up to  a  rosebush  and  handed  him  a  rosebud  and told  him  to  open  it  carefully  without  tearing off  any  of  the  petals.  The  young  preacher  was baffled,  and  was  trying  to  figure  out  what  a rosebud  could  possibly  have  to  do  with  his wanting  to  know  the  will  and  plan  of  God  for his  life  and  ministry. 

Nevertheless,  because  of his  great  respect  for  the  older  preacher,  he  proceeded  to  try  to  unfold  the  rose  while  keeping every  petal  intact.  It  wasn't  long  before  he  realized  how  impossible  this  was  to  do.  Noticing the  younger  preacher's  inability  to  unfold  the rosebud  without  tearing  it,  the  older  preacher began  to  recite  the  following    poem:

It   is only a tiny rosebud,
A flower of God's design;
But  I  cannot  unfold  the  petals
With these clumsy hands of mine.

The secret of unfolding flowers
Is  not  known  to  such  as  I.
God opens this flower so easily,
But in my hands they die.

If I cannot unfold a rosebud,
This flower of God's design,
Then how can I have the wisdom
To unfold this life of mine?

So I'll trust in God for leading
Each moment of my day.
I will look to God for guidance
In each step of the way.

The path that lies before me,
Only my Lord knows.
I'll  trust  God  to  unfold the  moments,
Just as He unfolds the rose.

#Lizard

WHEN A LIZARD CAN, WHY CAN'T WE?

This is a true story that happened in Japan.

In order to renovate the house, someone in Japan breaks open the wall.

Japanese houses normally have a hollow space between the wooden walls.

When tearing down the walls, he found that there was a lizard stuck there because a nail from outside hammered into one of it's feet.

He sees this, feels pity, and at the same time curious, as when he checked the nail,
it was nailed 5 years ago when the house was first built !!!

What happened?

The lizard has survived in such position for 5 years!!!!!!!!!!

In a dark wall partition for 5 years without moving, it is impossible and mind-boggling.

Then he wondered how this lizard survived for 5 years! without moving a single step--since it's foot was nailed!

So he stopped his work and observed the lizard, what it has been doing, and what and how it has been eating.

Later, not knowing from where it came, appears another lizard, with food in it's mouth.

Ah! He was stunned and touched deeply.

For the lizard that was stuck by nail, another lizard has been feeding it for the past 5 years...

Imagine? it has been doing that untiringly for 5 long years, without giving up hope on it's partner.

Imagine what a small creature can do that a creature blessed with a brilliant mind can't.

Please never abandon your loved ones

Never Say you're Busy When They Really Need You ...

You May Have The Entire World At Your Feet.....

But You Might Be The Only World To Them....

A Moment of negligence might break the very heart which loved you against all odds..

#The Monk Moment

The Monk Moment - Many great entrepreneurs have had a moment when they have lost everything. Monks create this situation intentionally through "Vairagya" when they give up all money and possessions. Many entrepreneurs end up in the same situation unintentionally. :-)

Elon Musk lost $180M and was in debt in 2008. Seven years later, he's worth $13 billion, but he'd be ready to risk it all again. Steve Jobs lost his entire Apple fortune by 1994, betting it on NeXT and Pixar. In 1995 everything turned around, he sold NeXT to Apple, Pixar to Disney and he passed away an icon. Walt Disney mortgaged away his entire fortune in the 1950s to build Disneyland, against everyone's advice. He too went from giving up everything to becoming a legend. Each bet everything material they had on something invisible - their purpose and vision.

Monks call the state that comes after giving up everything "Moksha" which means liberation from the illusion. We're not alive until we know what we'd die for.

I'm not saying great entrepreneurs are monks, but they do have 'monk moments' when they lose everything.

Many of the greatest entrepreneurs unintentionally find themselves in this state by betting everything on their dream. Maybe you're in this place right now. It is a place of pure power. When you have nothing to lose, you have infinite potential.

That is provided you don't focus on what you've lost, but on everything you have to gain. That's when everything turns around. As Walt Disney said "I don't make movies to make money. I make money to make movies".
That's the paradox of entrepreneurs having a 'near-death' experience where they lose it all. Steve Jobs wrote:

"Remembering that I'll be dead soon is the most important tool I've ever encountered to help me make the big choices in life.

Almost everything--all external expectations, all pride, all fear of embarrassment or failure--these things just fall away in the face of death, leaving only what is truly important. Remembering that you are going to die is the best way I know to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose. You are already naked. There is no reason not to follow your heart.

No one wants to die. Even people who want to go to heaven don't want to die to get there. And yet, death is the destination we all share. No one has ever escaped it, and that is how it should be, because death is very likely the single best invention of life. It's life's change agent. It clears out the old to make way for the new."

Different Expressions

 A young girl and her father were on a pilgrimage. When they reached the temple of Shiva, her father said, "Lets collect bilva leaves and dhatura flowers and offer them to Shiva to show our devotion." This is what the father and daughter did. Then, they reached a Vishnu temple, and her father said, "Lets collect tulsi leaves and offer it to Vishnu to show our devotion." This is what the father and daughter did. Then they reached a Ganesha temple. On the father's advice, the daughter offered blades of grass. At the temple of the Kali, the daughter was told to offer neem leaves and lemons. At the temple of Hanuman, she offered sesame oil.

 The daughter was confused, "You say all gods are actually one." "Yes," the father confirmed. "Then why different offerings to different gods?" "Because," said the father, "Each form is different and different forms need to be told the same thing in different ways. Each time we have expressed our devotion but the vehicle of communication has changed depending on the preferences of the recipient. That is why:  the wild bilva and poisonous dhatura for the hermit Shiva, the fragrant tulsi for the romantic Vishnu, the rapidly regenerating grass for Ganesha who was resurrected with an elephant head, the sour lemon and bitter neem for Kali who consumes all things, negativity included, and sesame for Hanuman, the mighty wrestler, feared even by death."

 Often we want to communicate an idea to our customers. But we do not pay adequate attention to the method of communication. The method chosen should be the function of the customer. Different customers need different methods. But most corporations find the idea of customizing methods of communication rather inefficient. So they try to come up with an efficient standard method of communication, often at the cost of effectiveness.

 Vishal had learnt in a training workshop the value of an 'elevator speech' to express his idea to a customer in less than a minute. He had used it many times. But it never had the desired effect – an appointment with the client. He wondered why. His colleague who had greater success with the elevator speech asked him over a cup of coffee, "In which language was the elevator speech for Mr. Masand?" English, said Vishal. "But you and I both know Mr. Masand prefers speaking in Hindi."

 At that moment the penny dropped. While speaking to the customer, Vishal was focusing on what he wanted to communicate and not on how it was received by the customer.

 Communication is not so much about the idea but about the customer. The method of communication depends on the capacity, capability and intent of the customer, and not so much on the capacity, capability and intent of the communicator. The reference point is the customer and not the communicator. This is often forgotten.

 That is why the same devotion is expressed differently for different gods: bilva for Shiva, tulsi for Vishnu, grass for Ganesha, hibiscus for Kali and sesame for Hanuman!

#Baby giraffes

Baby giraffes never go to school. But they learn a very important lesson rather early in life.

A lesson that all of us would do well to remember.

The birth of a baby giraffe is quite an earth-shaking event. The baby falls from its mother's womb, some eight feet above the ground. It shrivels up and lies still, too weak to move.

The mother giraffe lovingly lowers her neck to smooch the baby giraffe. And then something unbelievable happens. She lifts her long leg and kicks the baby giraffe, sending it flying up in the air and tumbling down on the ground.

As the baby lies curled up, the mother kicks the baby again and again until the baby giraffe, still trembling and tired, pushes its limbs and for the first time learns to stand on its feet.

Happy to see the baby standing on its own feet, the mother giraffe comes over and gives it yet another kick. The baby giraffe falls one more time, but now quickly recovers and stands up.

Mama Giraffe is delighted. She knows that her baby has learnt an important lesson:

Never mind how hard you fall, always remember to pick yourself up and get back on your feet.

Why does the mother giraffe do this? She knows that lions and leopards love giraffe meat. So unless the baby giraffe quickly learns to stand and run with the pack, it will have no chance of survival.

Most of us though are not quite as lucky as baby giraffes. No one teaches us to stand up every time we fall.

When we fail, when we are down, we just give up.
No one kicks us out of our comfort zone to remind us that to survive and succeed, we need to learn to get back on our feet.

This message is to everyone who hasn't given up and those who will always have the courage to get back , dust everything off and start again..

    Why some people have all the Luck ?  

By Professor Richard  Wiseman, University of Hertfordshire.

Why do some people get all the luck while others never get the breaks they deserve?

A psychologist says he has discovered the answer.

Ten years ago, I set out to examine luck. I wanted to know why some people are always in the right place at the right time, while others consistently experience ill fortune. I placed advertisements in national newspapers asking for people who felt consistently lucky or unlucky to contact me.

Hundreds of extraordinary men & women volunteered for my research & over the years, I have interviewed them, monitored their lives & had them take part in experiments.

The results reveal that although these people have almost no insight into the causes of their luck, their thoughts & behaviour are responsible for much of their good &  bad fortune. Take the case of seemingly chance opportunities. Lucky people consistently encounter such opportunities, whereas unlucky people do not.

I carried out a simple experiment to discover whether this was due to differences in their ability to spot such opportunities. I gave both lucky and unlucky people a newspaper, and asked them to look through it & tell me how many photographs were inside. I had secretly placed a large message halfway through the newspaper saying : "Tell the experimenter you have seen this and win $50."

This message took up half of the page & was written in type that was more than two inches high. It was staring everyone straight in the face, but the unlucky people tended to miss it & the lucky people tended to spot it.

Unlucky people are generally more tense than lucky people, and this anxiety disrupts their ability to notice the unexpected. As a result, they miss opportunities because they are too focused on looking for something else. They go to parties'; intent on finding their perfect partner & so miss opportunities to make good friends. They look through newspapers determined to find certain types of job advertisements & miss other types of jobs.

Lucky people are more relaxed & open, and therefore see what is there rather than just what they are looking for. My research eventually revealed that lucky people generate good fortune via four principles. They are skilled at creating & noticing chance opportunities, make lucky decisions by listening to their intuition, create self-fulfilling prophesies via positive expectations, and adopt a resilient attitude that transforms bad luck into good.

Towards the end of the work, I wondered whether these principles could be used to create good luck. I asked a group of volunteers to spend a month carrying out exercises designed to help them think & behave like a lucky person. Dramatic results ! These exercises helped them spot chance opportunities, listen to their intuition, expect to be lucky, and be more resilient to bad luck. One month later, the volunteers returned & described what had happened. The results were dramatic : 80% of people were now happier, more satisfied with their lives & perhaps most important of all, luckier.

The lucky people had become even luckier & the unlucky had become lucky. Finally, I had found the elusive "luck factor".

Here are Professor Wiseman's four top tips for becoming lucky:
1) Listen to your gut instincts - they are normally right
2) Be open to new experiences and breaking your normal routine
3) Spend a few moments each day remembering things that went well
4) Visualize yourself being lucky before an important meeting or telephone call.

#The 10th apple effect

The 10th apple effect!!
Long... but real n intresting... pls read..

A hunter once lost his way deep inside the jungle while chasing a deer. He used all his navigation skills but neither did he find any way out of the jungle nor could he find any food to eat for 8 days at a stretch. He started feeling so damn hungry that he could eat an entire elephant at one go. Disappointed, he lost all hope. And that is exactly when an apple tree caught his sight. He collected a dozen apples to feed him for the rest of his search.

As he ate the 1st apple, his joy knew no bounds and he just couldn't stop feeling grateful and blessed. He thanked life. He thanked God. He could not believe his luck when he ate the 1st apple but he was less grateful while having the 2nd apple and even lesser grateful when he had the 5th apple. Somehow, with each passing apple, the hunger still kept on increasing and the joy kept on reducing drastically. He just could not enjoy the 10th apple. Why? He had already taken for granted the gift of having found an apple tree in the middle of a forest after 8 long days of wandering with hunger. When he took the 10th apple in his hand, he was still very hungry but he just did not feel like having it any more. Economics calls this diminishing marginal utility. I would like to call it diminishing gratitude, in simple words, taking things for granted. Or let's just call it the 10th apple effect.

The 10th apple did not lack taste, it did not lack the potential to satisfy his hunger but the only thing lacking was his gratitude for finding food in the middle of the jungle.

The hunter represents us. And the apple represents the gifts that life gives us. The 10th apple represents our lack of gratitude for these gifts of life and our 'take everything for granted' attitude. As we continue receiving the gifts of life, our hunger, our greed keeps on increasing and the joy we get from these gifts diminishes.

Imagine the joy you get when you deliver a baby and hold your baby in your hands for the first time. The gratitude you have in that moment, for life and for God is unmatched. But what happens as time passes? Do you get the same joy when you look at your child every single day? Do you still find enough happy time to spend with your kids? Never let the 10th apple effect make you feel less grateful for the gift of a child.
The 10th apple is as sweet as the first apple. If the 10th apple fails to give you as much pleasure as the first one, nothing is wrong with the apple, everything is wrong with you. If you get bored on a dull day, it is not because the day is dull and boring. It is because your gratitude has become dull and boring. The gift of life for another day cannot be taken for granted. The Nth year of life should seem as exciting as the 16th year, as the 25th year, as the 50th year.

Never let the '10th apple effect' make you take these gifts of life for granted. Never let your gratitude for life fade away. Happy life!⁠⁠⁠⁠

#Fresh Lime Water story

Fresh Lime Water

The other day I was preparing fresh lime water for the first time. I ended up adding five times the amount of lemon than needed. It was a disaster. It tasted so sour that one sip of it would have been enough to make a dinosaur dance. I had to correct it anyhow. How I wish I could remove some lemon juice from water to make it taste perfect again! But alas! Some things can never be  undone. Some things can never be changed. There was no way to remove the extra lime. So what was the solution then? The only way to correct this was to add four more glasses of water and dilute the lemon juice to make five glasses of fresh lime water.

This made me think. Sometimes we cannot undo some things that have gone wrong in life. Some wrong decisions, wrong choices, wrong investments, wrong actions, wrong associations, wrong words or wrong doings can never be undone. So what is the solution then? When you cannot correct what is wrong, do not waste more time over it. It is like attempting to remove lemon from water. Instead, get busy in adding so many right things in your life that the wrong seems insignificant.

We all have a negative side to ourselves. We may not be able to remove or correct all our negativities. But we can definitely continue adding positive thoughts, positive reading and positive people in our lives and dilute the negativity. We all have to deal with some easy people and some difficult people in our lives. Do not waste time trying to change the difficult people. You will drain all your emotional energy in vain. Instead spend more time with the pleasant positive happy people and the difficult people will not affect you any more.

We all have been through lows in life and we cannot change that. But if we now add new highs in life, we will dilute the lows, isn't it? In the end life will seem 'mostly high'. We all have scars in life. We all have been through some pain in life. We all have made mistakes in life. We all have unfulfilled dreams, unanswered prayers. We cannot remove these bitter memories from life but we could get busy making new happy memories now.

Sometimes we wonder, why do bad things happen to good people? Why do good people suffer? It is because of the same reason. Even if you have no bad karma in this life, you cannot undo the bad karma of your past lives. You have to pay for it. Even good people have sometimes succumbed to the bad and unintentionally done some bad karma in the past. Karma is a tough one. It will make even good people pay for it. You cannot undo that bad karma. But yes, you can now make sure you add a lot of good karma now and dilute the bad karma. Do so much good karma that the bad karma gets overshadowed. Your sufferings will then end forever.

Everything in your life will never be perfect. Do not waste too much time correcting what is wrong. Get busy doing the right things.

A wise old man was sitting at the river bank when he saw a cat that had fallen into the water, flailing around, trying to save itself from drowning.
The man decided to save the cat. He stretched his hand out but was scratched by the cat. He pulled his hand back in pain.
However, a minute later he stretched his hand out again to save the cat, but it scratched him again, and again he pulled his hand back in pain.
Another minute later he was yet again trying for the third time!!

A man, who was nearby watching what was happening, yelled out: "O wise man, you have not learned your lesson the first time, nor the second time, and now you are trying to save the cat a third time?"

The wise man paid no heed to that man's scolding, and kept on trying until he managed to save the cat.

He then walked over to the man, and patted his shoulder saying: "My son.. it is in the cat's nature to scratch, and it is in my nature to love and have sympathy.
Why do you want me to let the cat's nature overcome mine !?!!

Treat people according to your nature, not according to theirs, no matter what they are like and no matter how numerous are their actions that harm you and cause you hurt sometimes.

And do not pay heed to all the voices that loudly call out to you to leave behind your good qualities merely because the other party is not deserving of your noble actions.

So never regret the moments you gave happiness to someone, even if that person did not deserve it.

#Sustenance

Once an old man was sitting in his usual place, dhikr of Almighty on his lips.
Slightly pre-occupied with the loaf of bread which was going to be his sustenance for the day.

Always the same..... One loaf of bread.

And  Moosaa happened to be walking past. The old man thought - "Here is my chance to send a message to Almighty...."

So he greeted Moosaa, and said somewhat falteringly:
"Oh Holy Man, when you are speaking to your Creator, can you ask Him to increase my (sustenance).... For so long now, all I have is a single loaf of bread per day.
I long for more.  Can I not have more than this....?    If you ask him Oh Moosaa, surely HE will grant me more....."

Without hesitation the reply he got from Moosaa, that his question would be put to Almighty.

And so it was, and the reply that Moosaa,  received was that the Old Man's lot in life was to receive one loaf of bread per day.  

That had been written for the Old Man for all his life.
The next time prophet saw the old man, and he passed on the message that 'one loaf of bread is all that he would receive, as it was written so, in his destiny'.

The old man was overjoyed.   He clapped his hands with glee. Surprised by this reaction Moosaa, asked him the reason for his joy.   The man replied, "If it is written, then so it shall be!!!! I have nothing to worry about. At least I will always receive one loaf of bread for the rest of my life......"   and with that he went back to his prayers.

Now as the months passed, the man's tranquility increased with the knowledge that he need not worry about his sustenance.    This enabled him to focus more on his remembrance of God, which led to him having less time to focus on food, and even less time to eat. So, from eating one loaf of bread, he barely managed to eat half a loaf.

What remained of the loaf of bread every day, was put in a corner.   Soon, the pile in the corner began to increase, until it became a huge heap.
One morning a herdsman was passing through the village and stopped to speak to the old man.   He was looking for hay for his livestock - but there was none to be found.  

The old man said to him : "Why don't you take the stale bread that is lying in that heap, soften it with water and give it to your animals....."   The herdsman did this and his herd happily ate every last crumb.   

The herdsman, to show his gratitude, gave the old man a nanny goat, and went on his way.

Days passed into months and a few years had gone by when  Moosaa, happened to be passing this way again.   To his astonishment he found the that the spot where the old man used to sit had been transformed into a garden.  

There were fruit trees growing nearby, and animals grazing not very far away.  There was a field with grain, and a general atmosphere of abundance and well being.   Moosa, found out that all this belonged to the old man. 

Puzzled, because he knew what was written in the old man's destiny - a single loaf of bread per day - prophet went on his way determined to find out what this was all about.

"How could this be?"   "A loaf a day is all that was written.........., yet he had so much more ..."

The answer .... "One loaf of bread was the sustenance that had been written for the old man. The fruit trees, the live stock and field of crops were the blessings which came from has acceptance of what had been written, as his lot in life."

It was his reward for  his complete trust in Almighty. The  (Abundance) was the result of his shift in focus from what he wanted, to enjoying what he had,  to such a degree, that even after eating as much as he wanted, he still had some left.  His needs had become so small. The abundance this created in the old man's life was compounded by his generosity and willingness to share what he had.

So Rizq is written. But, Barkat comes when we Trust in Almighty, when we are generous with what we  have , and are grateful.

From Ancient China: 'The sentence of a wise Judge'

A farmer in ancient China had a neighbor who was a hunter, and who owned ferocious and poorly trained hunting dogs. They jumped the fence frequently and chased the farmer's lambs. The farmer asked his neighbor to keep his dogs in check, but this fell on deaf ears.
One day the dogs again jumped the fence and attacked and severely injured several of the lambs.
The farmer had had enough, and went to town to consult a judge who listened carefully to the story and said: "I could punish the hunter and instruct him to keep his dogs chained or lock them up. But you would lose a friend and gain an enemy. Which would you rather have, friend or foe for a neighbor?" The farmer replied that he preferred a friend.
"Alright, I will offer you a solution that keeps your lambs safe, and which will keep your a neighbor a friend." Having heard the judge's solution, the farmer agreed.
Once at home, the farmer immediately put the judge's suggestions to the test. He took three of his best lambs and presented them to his neighbor's three small sons, who were beside themselves with joy and began to play with them. To protect his son's newly acquired playthings, the hunter built a strong kennel for his dogs. Since then, the dogs never again bothered the farmer's lambs.
Out of gratitude for the farmer's generosity toward his sons, the hunter often shared the game he had hunted with the farmer. The farmer reciprocated by sending the hunter lamb meat and cheese he had made. Within a short time the neighbors became good friends.
A saying in old China went something like this, "One can win over and influence people the best with gestures of kindness and compassion." A similar American saying: "One catches more flies with honey than with vinegar!

#Pigeons

Received this post, simply loved it.
Hence sharing..

In an ancient temple, a number of pigeons lived happily on roof top.

When the renovation of the temple began for the annual temple feast the pigeons relocated themselves to a Church nearby.

The existing pigeons in the Church accommodated the new comers very well.

Christmas was nearing and the Church was given a facelift, All the pigeons had to move out and look for another place.

They were fortunate to find a place in a Mosque nearby, The pigeons in the Mosque welcomed them happily.

It was Ramadan time and the Mosque was repainted, All the pigeons now came to the same ancient temple.

One day the pigeons on top found some communal clashes below in a market square.

The baby pigeon asked the mother pigeon
"Who are these people ?

The mother replied; they are "Human beings".

The baby asked,
But why are they fighting with each other...?

The mother said "These human beings going to temple are called 'Hindus' and the people going to Church are called 'Christians' and the people going to Mosque are called 'Muslims'.

The Baby pigeon asked, "Why is it so? When we were in the Temple we were called Pigeons, when we were in the church we were called Pigeons and when we were in the Mosque, we were called Pigeons. Similarly they should be called just

#Daughter-in-law

Why its tough being a Daughter-in-law in India?

I have been wanting to write this one since some time. I would really be pleased if even one person changed after reading this.

I remember one incident. Way back during my Post-Graduation days, I was treating a young lady who was facing major depression because of in-laws related harassment. While discussing my progress, a senior of mine said -
"Spend some extra-time on this case, You are going to come across hundreds if not thousands of them in your life.."
If you ask me Today, even I would give the same advice to any young counselor/psychiatrist.

Irrespective of your religion, caste or creed.. Here are 5 OUTRAGEOUSLY IDIOTIC THOUGHT PROCESS, which lead to "psychological, physical and financial abuse" of a Daughter-in-law in India -

1. "Outsider Tag" - The main reason for evil, is the lack of acceptance of a daughter-in-law as part of the family. Everyday I meet and counsel families who "keep a daughter-in-law" out of a discussion.
I have heard thousands of stories of how the husband and his parents, talk secretly in a room while the daughter-in-law is made to watch TV, because she is an "outsider"...
The really ironic part is that, when I asked some of such people what they thought about "untouchability", they had these really "amazing answers".. But they failed to realize the same behavior in their own home!

2.  Insecure Parents - One of the most common lines I come across in counseling parents - "that women took away our son".
Its time to accept it, most indian parents are selfish. So lets keep the "selfless love tag aside".
They "invest" time, money and love on a son.. so he can repay by taking care of them in their old-age. The finer print to this is - They expect him to behave like an obedient 5yr old kid till they die!!
They just get insecure when he starts to take his own decisions. Decisions that will revolve around his "selfishness" for his own family.
Have you heard the saying - what you throw into the universe, comes back to you magnified!!

3. No guidance through Adjustment phase - Have you every heard about Adjustment phase or Adjustment disorder?
In most probability you don't even have the faintest Idea what it is.
Adjustment phase is the time it takes the mind to adjust into a new environment.
Adjustment disorder is very high levels of sadness, fear, depression and anxiety that one suffers, if the adjustment phase fails. In great majority of cases this disorder requires medicines for cure.

The adjustment phase for daughter-in-law in Indian setup, would be anywhere between 1 - 2years.
How much time is given to her for adjusting? - so-called PROGRESSIVE households say - 1or maximum 2 month is more than enough.
During this time, no one guides her.. she has to learn on her own.

Now as you can logically deduce, the failure of adjustment phase leads the brain of many ladies into clinical levels of depression and anxiety.- this is manifested as fear, sadness, anger, irritation!!

TO ADD INSULT TO INJURY - how do Indian household take care of this depression/anxiety..  another IDIOTIC thought is seeped in - Have a child!! everything will be fine!! - no doubt we have reached 1.2 billion..and mental health illness is growing exponentially every year!!

4. Everyone loves the Dark Side - It doesn't matter how rich or powerful you are. It takes a lot of inner strength to stand against the Regressive thought process of society.
I have seen mother-in-laws who treat their daughter-in-laws like "slaves".
They decide on her daily routine, feel pride in giving her "holidays" and hand over a list of things she "demands" her parents to provide.

All this Stupidity is done in the name of "SOCIAL RULES".
Hardly a marginal percentage of people stand against this.. why?
Because its so easy to like the negative.

Remember in childhood you were taught - Bad habits come easily and are very difficult to go.!

Its so natural to like the dark side.. and as a big Joke.. Everyone prays to GOD for more of it!!!

5. Husband is still a boy not a man - Most men take a lot of time to mature. Maturity isn't related to physical age, but your mental outlook. Most men behave as small boys, who are happy outsourcing their responsibilities to their parents.
A great number of men find marriage a legal way to have sex, someone to talk to and roam around with.
Most don't have the maturity to understand the emotional and social responsibility they have towards their wife.
Most are not ready to accept the changes that life demands once they get married.
Most men cannot stand up to their mother or father and fight for their wife. But they have on great trait, they create amazing "excuses" to run away from this responsibility.


There are 5 additional issues, which affect a daughter-in-law. I will not write about them today, but sometime soon. These are -

1. Difference in rules for Own Daughter vs those for Daughter-in-law.
2. Passive aggression - when In-laws slowly their own son/daughter relationship through gossiping, unnecessary intervention and rigid rules.
3. Turbulent past of Mother-in-law and how it changes her present brain-behavior pattern.due to her own turbulent past.
4. Parents of the "daughter-in-law". - love vs. social laws.
5. having a girl child doesn't mean you are blessed or cursed.. its change in your attitude that matters, else be prepared for a repeat!

#Nokia

Something to ponder:

During the press conference to announce NOKIA being acquired by Microsoft, Nokia CEO ended his speech saying this "we didn't do anything wrong,  but somehow,  we lost".  Upon saying that,  all his management team,  himself included,  teared sadly.

Nokia has been a respectable company.  They didn't do anything wrong in their business,  however,  the world changed too fast.  Their opponents were too powerful.

They missed out on learning,  they missed out on changing,  and thus they lost the opportunity at hand to make it big.  Not only did they missed the opportunity to earn big money,  they lost their chance of survival.

The message of this story is, if you don't change,  you shall be removed from the competition. 

It's not wrong if you don't want to learn new things.  However,  if your thoughts and mindset cannot catch up with time,  you will be eliminated.

Conclusion:
1. The advantage you have yesterday,  will be replaced by the trends of tomorrow.  You don't have to do anything wrong, as long as your competitors catch the wave and do it RIGHT,  you can lose out and fail.

2. To change and improve yourself is giving yourself a second chance.  To be forced by others to change,  is like being discarded. 

Those who refuse to learn & improve, will definitely one day become redundant & not relevant to the industry. They will learn the lesson in a hard & expensive way.

Four principles of spirituality

The First Principle states:

"Whomsoever you encounter is the right one"

This means that no one comes into our life by chance. Everyone who is around us, anyone with whom we interact, represents something, whether to teach us something or to help us improve a current situation.

The Second Principle states:

"Whatever happened is the only thing that could have happened"

Nothing, absolutely nothing of that which we experienced could have been any other way. Not even in the least important detail. There is no "If only I had done that differently, then it would have been different". No. What happened is the only thing that could have taken place and must have taken place for us to learn our lesson in order to move forward. Every single situation in life which we encounter is absolutely perfect, even when it defies our understanding and our ego.

The Third Principle states:

"Each moment in which something begins is the right moment"

Everything begins at exactly the right moment, neither earlier nor later. When we are ready for it, for that something new in our life, it is there, ready to begin.

The Fourth Principle states:

"What is over, is over"

It is that simple. When something in our life ends, it helps our evolution. That is why, enriched by the recent experience, it is better to let go and move on.

Think it is no coincidence that you're here reading this.

If these words strike a chord, it's because you meet the requirements and understand that not one single snowflake falls accidentally in the wrong place!

#Kaliyug

What is Kaliyug and what will happen during Kaliyug ?

-asked The four Pandavas
(except Yudhishthira who was not present) 


Krishna smiled and said "let me demonstrate you the situation of Kaliyug"

He took a bow and four arrows and shot them in four directions, and ordered the four Pandavas to bring them back.

Each of the four Pabdavas went in four different directions to search for the arrows.

Arjuna- when he picked the arrow, he heard a very sweet voice.. he turned back and saw a cuckoo was singing bhajans in very spellbinding voice but was also eating flesh of a live rabbit which was in great pain.

Arjuna was very surprised to see such a gory act by such a divine bird ...he left the place immediately.



Bhima picked the arrow from a place where five wells were situated, the four wells were surrounding a single well.

The four wells were overflowing with very sweet water as if they were not able to hold water and surprisingly the well in the middle of these four overflowing wells was completely empty.

Bhima was also puzzled at this sight.



Nakula was returning to the place after picking up the arrow he stopped at a place where a cow was about to give birth.

After giving birth the cow started licking the calf but continued to lick it even after the calf was clean, with great difficulty people were able to separate them and by that time the calf was injured badly.

Nakula was puzzled by the behaviour of such calm animal.



Sahdev picked an arrow which fell near a mountain and saw a big boulder falling, the boulder was crushing the rocks and big trees on his way down, but the same boulder was stopped by a small plant.

Sahdev was also amazed at this sight.


All the Pandavas asked the meaning of these incidents from Krishna who smiled and started explaining-
" In Kaliyug the priests will have very sweet voice and will also have great knowledge but they will exploit devotees the same way cuckoo was doing with rabbit.

In Kaliyug poor will live among rich, those rich will have enormous amount of wealth which will actually overflow but they will not offer a single penny to the poor same as the four well didn't had a single drop of water for the empty well. 


In Kaliyug parents will love their children so much that their love will actually spoil them and will destroy their lives similar to the love shown by cow to her newborn calf.


In Kaliyug people will fall in terms of character like the boulder from the mountain and they will not be stopped by anyone at the end only the name of God will be able to hold them from doom like the little plant held the boulder from further fall.


That's the explanation of Kaliyug from Lord Krishna to Pandavas...

A horse suddenly came galloping quickly down the road. It seemed as though the man had somewhere important to go.

The horse is pulling us along, making us run here and there and hurry everywhere and we don't even know why. You're just used to it, it's how we're taught to live.

But as much as we run, it gets us nowhere. We need to learn how to take back the reigns and let the horse know who's boss.

You're the boss, you've always been the boss, so start acting like it.

During the first 100 year of its existence, the Chinese were invaded thrice. ...
And everytime, the hordes of enemy infantry had no need of penetrating or climbing over the wall...because each time they bribed the guards and came through the doors.
The Chinese built the wall but forgot the character-building of the wall-guards

Thus the building of human character comes BEFORE building of anything else.....

Thats what our Students need today.

Like one of the Orientalist said:
If you want to destroy the civilization of a nation there are 3 ways:
1. Destroy family structure
2.Destroy education
3. Lower their role models and references

1.In order to destroy the family; undermine the role of Mother, so that she feels ashamed of being a housewife.

2. To destroy education: you should give no importance to Teacher, and lower his place in society so as that the students despise him

To lower the role models: you should undermine the scholars, doubt them untill no one listens to them or follows them.

For when a conscious mother disappears, a dedicated teacher disappears and there's a  downfall of role models, WHO will teach the youngsters VALUES?...

एक जौहरी के निधन के बाद उसका परिवार संकट में पड़ गया।

खाने के भी लाले पड़ गए।

एक दिन उसकी पत्नी ने अपने बेटे को नीलम का एक हार देकर कहा- 'बेटा, इसे अपने चाचा की दुकान पर ले जाओ।

कहना इसे बेचकर कुछ रुपये दे दें।

बेटा वह हार लेकर चाचा जी के पास गया।

चाचा ने हार को अच्छी तरह से देख परखकर कहा- बेटा, मां से कहना कि अभी बाजार
बहुत मंदा है।

थोड़ा रुककर बेचना, अच्छे दाम मिलेंगे।

उसे थोड़े से रुपये देकर कहा कि तुम कल से दुकान पर आकर बैठना।

अगले दिन से वह लड़का रोज दुकान पर जाने लगा और वहां हीरों रत्नो की परख का काम सीखने लगा।

एक दिन वह बड़ा पारखी बन गया।
लोग दूर-दूर से अपने हीरे की परख कराने आने लगे।

एक दिन उसके चाचा ने कहा, बेटा अपनी मां से वह हार लेकर आना और कहना कि अब बाजार बहुत तेज है,

उसके अच्छे दाम मिल जाएंगे।

मां से हार लेकर उसने परखा तो पाया कि वह तो नकली है।

वह उसे घर पर ही छोड़ कर दुकान लौट आया।

चाचा ने पूछा, हार नहीं लाए?

उसने कहा, वह तो नकली था।

तब चाचा ने कहा- जब तुम पहली बार हार लेकर थे, तब मैं उसे नकली बता देता तो तुम सोचते कि आज हम पर बुरा वक्त आया तो चाचा हमारी चीज को भी नकली बताने लगे।


आज जब तुम्हें खुद ज्ञान हो गया तो पता चल गया कि हार सचमुच नकली है।

सच यह है कि ज्ञान के बिना इस संसार में हम जो भी सोचते, देखते और जानते हैं, सब गलत है।

और ऐसे ही गलतफहमी का शिकार होकर रिश्ते बिगडते है।

Very interesting Story !!!!


A pretty and wealthy woman was serving a life sentence in prison.

Angry and resentful about her plight she had decided that she would rather die than to live another year in prison.

Over the years she had become good friends with one of the prison caretakers. His job, among others, was to bury those prisoners who died, in a graveyard which was just outside the prison walls.

When a prisoner died, the caretaker would ring a bell,
which was heard by everyone.

The caretaker would then
get the body and put it in a casket. Next, he would enter his office to fill out the death certificate before returning to the casket to nail the lid shut. Finally, he would put the casket on a wagon to take it to the graveyard and bury it.

Knowing this routine, the woman devised an escape plan and shared it with the caretaker:

The next time the bell rang, the woman would leave her cell and sneak into the dark room where the coffins were
kept. She would slip into the coffin with the dead body while the caretaker was filling out the death
certificate...When the care-taker returned, he would nail the lid shut and take the coffin outside the prison with the woman in the coffin along with the dead body.
He would then bury the coffin. The woman having pre-arranged with the caretaker for special vents in the coffin knew there
would be enough air for her to breathe until later in the evening when the caretaker would return to the graveyard under the cover of darkness, dig up the coffin, open it, and set her free. She would also carry along a small flashlight to cope with the darkness beneath until the hour of expected freedom.

The caretaker was reluctant to go along with this plan, but since he and the woman had become good friends over the years, and knowing that he stood to gain a lot from this pretty and wealthy woman, he more than agreed to do it.

The woman waited several weeks before someone in the prison died. She was asleep in her cell when she
heard the death bell ring. She got up and slowly walked down the hallway. She was nearly caught a couple of times. Her heart was beating fast. She opened the door to the darkened room where the coffins were kept. Quietly in the dark, she found the coffin that contained the dead body, carefully climbed into the coffin and pulled the lid shut to wait for the caretaker to come and nail the lid shut.

Soon she heard footsteps and the pounding of the
hammer and nails.

Even though she was very uncomfortable in the coffin with the dead body, she knew that with each nail she was one step closer to freedom.

The coffin was lifted onto the wagon and taken outside to the graveyard. She could feel the coffin being lowered into the ground. She didn't make a sound as the coffin hit the bottom of the grave with a thud.

Finally she heard the dirt dropping onto the top of
the wooden coffin, and she knew that it was only a matter of time and she would be free at last. After several minutes of absolute silence, she began to laugh...happily feeling free already and chanting she was free! she was free!

Feeling curious, she decided to light the flashlight to find out the identity of the dead prisoner beside her.

To her horror, she discovered that she was lying next
to the CARETAKER....her only hope to freedom.

Many people believe they have life all figured out...that they are well connected and can arrange and pre-arrange things to their favour... but sometimes it just doesn't turn out the way they planned it.

Think of a 'Plan B'!!!

The Happiest People Don't Have the Best of Everything, They Just Make The Best Of What They Have...But at times even the BEST FAILS...

#Spiders web

A truly beautiful story :

      During World War II, a soldier was separated from his unit on an island. The fighting had been intense, and in the smoke and the crossfire he had lost touch with his comrades.

      Alone in the jungle, he could hear enemy soldiers coming in his direction. Scrambling for cover, he found his way up a high ridge to several small caves in the rock. Quickly he crawled inside one of the caves.

      Although safe for the moment, he realised that once the enemy soldiers looking for him swept up the ridge, they would quickly search all the caves and would be killed.

      As he waited, he prayed, "Lord, please spare my life. Whatever will happen, I love you and trust you. Amen." After praying, he lay quietly listening to the enemy begin to draw close.

      He thought, "Well, I guess the Lord isn't going to help me out of this one." Then he saw a spider begin to build a web over the front of his cave. "Hah" he thought, "What I need is a brick wall and what the Lord has sent me is a spider web. God does have a sense of humour. "

      As the enemy drew closer he watched from the darkness of his hide out and could see them searching one cave after another.

      As they came to his, he got ready to make his last stand, but then he heard the leader of the soldiers say, "You may as well ignore looking in this cave....if he had entered here this web would be broken!" So they left and he was delivered!

      To his amazement, however, after glancing in the direction of his cave, they moved on. Suddenly he realised that with the spider web over the entrance, his cave looked as if no one had entered for quite a while.

     "Lord, forgive me," he prayed. "I had forgotten that in you a spider's web is stronger than a brick wall."

God's ways are not our ways, God's thoughts are not our thoughts.. He will neither leave us nor forsake us..
Let's trust in God always!!

(Sometimes a prayer doesn't change the situation.
But it changes our attitudes towards the situation
And gives us hope which changes our entire life.)

#Lucky

Why  do some people have all the Luck ?

Why do some people get all the luck while others never get the breaks they deserve?

A psychologist says he has discovered the answer.

Ten years ago, I set out to examine luck. I wanted to know why some people are always in the right place at the right time, while others consistently experience ill fortune. I placed advertisements in national newspapers asking for people who felt consistently lucky or unlucky to contact me.

Hundreds of extraordinary men & women volunteered for my research & over the years, I have interviewed them, monitored their lives & had them take part in experiments.

The results reveal that although these people have almost no insight into the causes of their luck, their thoughts & behaviour are responsible for much of their good & bad fortune. Take the case of seemingly chance opportunities. Lucky people consistently encounter such opportunities, whereas unlucky people do not.

I carried out a simple experiment to discover whether this was due to differences in their ability to spot such opportunities. I gave both lucky and unlucky people a newspaper, and asked them to look through it & tell me how many photographs were inside. I had secretly placed a large message halfway through the newspaper saying : "Tell the experimenter you have seen this and win $50."

This message took up half of the page & was written in type that was more than two inches high. It was staring everyone straight in the face, but the unlucky people tended to miss it & the lucky people tended to spot it.

Unlucky people are generally more tense than lucky people, and this anxiety disrupts their ability to notice the unexpected. As a result, they miss opportunities because they are too focused on looking for something else. They go to parties'; intent on finding their perfect partner & so miss opportunities to make good friends. They look through newspapers determined to find certain types of job advertisements & miss other types of jobs.

Lucky people are more relaxed & open, and therefore see what is there rather than just what they are looking for. My research eventually revealed that lucky people generate good fortune via four principles. They are skilled at creating & noticing chance opportunities, make lucky decisions by listening to their intuition, create self-fulfilling prophesies via positive expectations, and adopt a resilient attitude that transforms bad luck into good.

Towards the end of the work, I wondered whether these principles could be used to create good luck. I asked a group of volunteers to spend a month carrying out exercises designed to help them think & behave like a lucky person. Dramatic results ! These exercises helped them spot chance opportunities, listen to their intuition, expect to be lucky, and be more resilient to bad luck. One month later, the volunteers returned & described what had happened. The results were dramatic : 80% of people were now happier, more satisfied with their lives & perhaps most important of all, luckier.

The lucky people had become even luckier & the unlucky had become lucky. Finally, I had found the elusive "luck factor".

Here are Professor Wiseman's four top tips for becoming lucky:
1) Listen to your gut instincts - they are normally right
2) Be open to new experiences and breaking Ur normal routine
3) Spend a few moments each day remembering things that went well
4) Visualize Urself being lucky before an important meeting or telephone call.
