#Pigeons

Received this post, simply loved it.
Hence sharing..

In an ancient temple, a number of pigeons lived happily on roof top.

When the renovation of the temple began for the annual temple feast the pigeons relocated themselves to a Church nearby.

The existing pigeons in the Church accommodated the new comers very well.

Christmas was nearing and the Church was given a facelift, All the pigeons had to move out and look for another place.

They were fortunate to find a place in a Mosque nearby, The pigeons in the Mosque welcomed them happily.

It was Ramadan time and the Mosque was repainted, All the pigeons now came to the same ancient temple.

One day the pigeons on top found some communal clashes below in a market square.

The baby pigeon asked the mother pigeon
"Who are these people ?

The mother replied; they are "Human beings".

The baby asked,
But why are they fighting with each other...?

The mother said "These human beings going to temple are called 'Hindus' and the people going to Church are called 'Christians' and the people going to Mosque are called 'Muslims'.

The Baby pigeon asked, "Why is it so? When we were in the Temple we were called Pigeons, when we were in the church we were called Pigeons and when we were in the Mosque, we were called Pigeons. Similarly they should be called just
'Human beings' wherever they go"?

The mother Pigeon said,
'You and me and our Pigeon friends have experienced God and that's why we are living here in a highly elevated place peacefully.

These people are yet to experience God.

Hence they are living below us and fighting and killing each other.

Don't Just Read this Message,
SHARE With all your near and dear ones, as Many of us Should Have Thinking as Pigeons 😊

#Daughter-in-law

Why its tough being a Daughter-in-law in India?

I have been wanting to write this one since some time. I would really be pleased if even one person changed after reading this.

I remember one incident. Way back during my Post-Graduation days, I was treating a young lady who was facing major depression because of in-laws related harassment. While discussing my progress, a senior of mine said -
"Spend some extra-time on this case, You are going to come across hundreds if not thousands of them in your life.."
If you ask me Today, even I would give the same advice to any young counselor/psychiatrist.

Irrespective of your religion, caste or creed.. Here are 5 OUTRAGEOUSLY IDIOTIC THOUGHT PROCESS, which lead to "psychological, physical and financial abuse" of a Daughter-in-law in India -

1. "Outsider Tag" - The main reason for evil, is the lack of acceptance of a daughter-in-law as part of the family. Everyday I meet and counsel families who "keep a daughter-in-law" out of a discussion.
I have heard thousands of stories of how the husband and his parents, talk secretly in a room while the daughter-in-law is made to watch TV, because she is an "outsider"...
The really ironic part is that, when I asked some of such people what they thought about "untouchability", they had these really "amazing answers".. But they failed to realize the same behavior in their own home!
.
.
2.  Insecure Parents - One of the most common lines I come across in counseling parents - "that women took away our son".
Its time to accept it, most indian parents are selfish. So lets keep the "selfless love tag aside".
They "invest" time, money and love on a son.. so he can repay by taking care of them in their old-age. The finer print to this is - They expect him to behave like an obedient 5yr old kid till they die!!
They just get insecure when he starts to take his own decisions. Decisions that will revolve around his "selfishness" for his own family.
Have you heard the saying - what you throw into the universe, comes back to you magnified!!
.
.
3. No guidance through Adjustment phase - Have you every heard about Adjustment phase or Adjustment disorder?
In most probability you don't even have the faintest Idea what it is.
Adjustment phase is the time it takes the mind to adjust into a new environment.
Adjustment disorder is very high levels of sadness, fear, depression and anxiety that one suffers, if the adjustment phase fails. In great majority of cases this disorder requires medicines for cure.

The adjustment phase for daughter-in-law in Indian setup, would be anywhere between 1 - 2years.
How much time is given to her for adjusting? - so-called PROGRESSIVE households say - 1or maximum 2 month is more than enough.
During this time, no one guides her.. she has to learn on her own.

Now as you can logically deduce, the failure of adjustment phase leads the brain of many ladies into clinical levels of depression and anxiety.- this is manifested as fear, sadness, anger, irritation!!

TO ADD INSULT TO INJURY - how do Indian household take care of this depression/anxiety..  another IDIOTIC thought is seeped in - Have a child!! everything will be fine!! - no doubt we have reached 1.2 billion..and mental health illness is growing exponentially every year!!
.
.
4. Everyone loves the Dark Side - It doesn't matter how rich or powerful you are. It takes a lot of inner strength to stand against the Regressive thought process of society.
I have seen mother-in-laws who treat their daughter-in-laws like "slaves".
They decide on her daily routine, feel pride in giving her "holidays" and hand over a list of things she "demands" her parents to provide.

All this Stupidity is done in the name of "SOCIAL RULES".
Hardly a marginal percentage of people stand against this.. why?
Because its so easy to like the negative.

Remember in childhood you were taught - Bad habits come easily and are very difficult to go.!

Its so natural to like the dark side.. and as a big Joke.. Everyone prays to GOD for more of it!!!
.
.
5. Husband is still a boy not a man - Most men take a lot of time to mature. Maturity isn't related to physical age, but your mental outlook. Most men behave as small boys, who are happy outsourcing their responsibilities to their parents.
A great number of men find marriage a legal way to have sex, someone to talk to and roam around with.
Most don't have the maturity to understand the emotional and social responsibility they have towards their wife.
Most are not ready to accept the changes that life demands once they get married.
Most men cannot stand up to their mother or father and fight for their wife. But they have on great trait, they create amazing "excuses" to run away from this responsibility.

There are 5 additional issues, which affect a daughter-in-law. I will not write about them today, but sometime soon. These are -

1. Difference in rules for Own Daughter vs those for Daughter-in-law.
2. Passive aggression - when In-laws slowly their own son/daughter relationship through gossiping, unnecessary intervention and rigid rules.
3. Turbulent past of Mother-in-law and how it changes her present brain-behavior pattern.due to her own turbulent past.
4. Parents of the "daughter-in-law". - love vs. social laws.
5. having a girl child doesn't mean you are blessed or cursed.. its change in your attitude that matters, else be prepared for a repeat!

#Nokia

Something to ponder:

During the press conference to announce NOKIA being acquired by Microsoft, Nokia CEO ended his speech saying this "we didn't do anything wrong,  but somehow,  we lost".  Upon saying that,  all his management team,  himself included,  teared sadly.

Nokia has been a respectable company.  They didn't do anything wrong in their business,  however,  the world changed too fast.  Their opponents were too powerful.

They missed out on learning,  they missed out on changing,  and thus they lost the opportunity at hand to make it big.  Not only did they missed the opportunity to earn big money,  they lost their chance of survival.

The message of this story is, if you don't change,  you shall be removed from the competition.

It's not wrong if you don't want to learn new things.  However,  if your thoughts and mindset cannot catch up with time,  you will be eliminated.

Conclusion:
1. The advantage you have yesterday,  will be replaced by the trends of tomorrow.  You don't have to do anything wrong, as long as your competitors catch the wave and do it RIGHT,  you can lose out and fail.

2. To change and improve yourself is giving yourself a second chance.  To be forced by others to change,  is like being discarded.

Those who refuse to learn & improve, will definitely one day become redundant & not relevant to the industry. They will learn the lesson in a hard & expensive way.

#Karma

It is not important whether you believe in spirituality or not, the four principles of spirituality apply to all from the moment one is born and will remain there till the end!
Four principles of spirituality

The First Principle states:

"Whomsoever you encounter is the right one"

This means that no one comes into our life by chance. Everyone who is around us, anyone with whom we interact, represents something, whether to teach us something or to help us improve a current situation.

The Second Principle states:

"Whatever happened is the only thing that could have happened"

Nothing, absolutely nothing of that which we experienced could have been any other way. Not even in the least important detail. There is no "If only I had done that differently, then it would have been different". No. What happened is the only thing that could have taken place and must have taken place for us to learn our lesson in order to move forward. Every single situation in life which we encounter is absolutely perfect, even when it defies our understanding and our ego.

The Third Principle states:

"Each moment in which something begins is the right moment"

Everything begins at exactly the right moment, neither earlier nor later. When we are ready for it, for that something new in our life, it is there, ready to begin.

The Fourth Principle states:

"What is over, is over"

It is that simple. When something in our life ends, it helps our evolution. That is why, enriched by the recent experience, it is better to let go and move on.

Think it is no coincidence that you're here reading this.

If these words strike a chord, it's because you meet the requirements and understand that not one single snowflake falls accidentally in the wrong place!

Be good to yourself.

Love with your whole being.

Always be happy
Love like there's no tomorrow.
And if tomorrow comes, well, Love again.

#Women

A woman's love is in her action. She looks with her heart and feels with her eyes.

A woman is the bank where her family deposits all anger, worries and hurt.

A woman is the cement that keeps her family together and her love lasts a lifetime.

#Kaliyug

What is Kaliyug and what will happen during Kaliyug ?

-asked The four Pandavas
(except Yudhishthira who was not present)

Krishna smiled and said "let me demonstrate you the situation of Kaliyug"

He took a bow and four arrows and shot them in four directions, and ordered the four Pandavas to bring them back.

Each of the four Pabdavas went in four different directions to search for the arrows.

Arjuna- when he picked the arrow, he heard a very sweet voice.. he turned back and saw a cuckoo was singing bhajans in very spellbinding voice but was also eating flesh of a live rabbit which was in great pain.

Arjuna was very surprised to see such a gory act by such a divine bird ...he left the place immediately.

Bhima picked the arrow from a place where five wells were situated, the four wells were surrounding a single well.

The four wells were overflowing with very sweet water as if they were not able to hold water and surprisingly the well in the middle of these four overflowing wells was completely empty.

Bhima was also puzzled at this sight.

Nakula was returning to the place after picking up the arrow he stopped at a place where a cow was about to give birth.

After giving birth the cow started licking the calf but continued to lick it even after the calf was clean, with great difficulty people were able to separate them and by that time the calf was injured badly.

Nakula was puzzled by the behaviour of such calm animal.

Sahdev picked an arrow which fell near a mountain and saw a big boulder falling, the boulder was crushing the rocks and big trees on his way down, but the same boulder was stopped by a small plant.

Sahdev was also amazed at this sight.

All the Pandavas asked the meaning of these incidents from Krishna who smiled and started explaining-
" In Kaliyug the priests will have very sweet voice and will also have great knowledge but they will exploit devotees the same way cuckoo was doing with rabbit.

In Kaliyug poor will live among rich, those rich will have enormous amount of wealth which will actually overflow but they will not offer a single penny to the poor same as the four well didn't had a single drop of water for the empty well.

In Kaliyug parents will love their children so much that their love will actually spoil them and will destroy their lives similar to the love shown by cow to her newborn calf.

In Kaliyug people will fall in terms of character like the boulder from the mountain and they will not be stopped by anyone at the end only the name of God will be able to hold them from doom like the little plant held the boulder from further fall.

That's the explanation of Kaliyug from Lord Krishna to Pandavas...

Let's try to understand the meaning...

#Horse

A horse suddenly came galloping quickly down the road. It seemed as though the man had somewhere important to go.

Another man, who was standing alongside the road, shouted, "Where are you going?" and the man on the horse replied,

"I don't know! Ask the horse!"

Explanation: This is a short but well-known Zen story with a powerful meaning behind it. The horse symbolizes our habit energy. The story explains the way we usually live, at the mercy of our old habit energies which have been established not by our intentional actions, but by our surroundings and mindless activity.

The horse is pulling us along, making us run here and there and hurry everywhere and we don't even know why. If you stopped to ask yourself from time to time why exactly you're running around so much, sometimes you might have an answer, but it's never a very good one. You're just used to it, it's how we're taught to live.

But as much as we run, it gets us nowhere. We need to learn how to take back the reigns and let the horse know who's boss.

You're the boss, you've always been the boss, so start acting like it.

#Education

When the ancient Chinese decided to live in peace, they made the great wall of china,
They thought no one can climb it due to its height.

During the first 100 year of its existence, the Chinese were invaded thrice. ...
And everytime, the hordes of enemy infantry had no need of penetrating or climbing over the wall...because each time they bribed the guards and came through the doors.
The Chinese built the wall but forgot the character-building of the wall-guards

Thus the building of human character comes BEFORE building of anything else.....

Thats what our Students need today.

Like one of the Orientalist said:
If you want to destroy the civilization of a nation there are 3 ways:
1. Destroy family structure
2.Destroy education
3. Lower their role models and references

1.In order to destroy the family; undermine the role of Mother, so that she feels ashamed of being a housewife.

2. To destroy education: you should give no importance to Teacher, and lower his place in society so as that the students despise him

To lower the role models: you should undermine the scholars, doubt them untill no one listens to them or follows them.

For when a conscious mother disappears, a dedicated teacher disappears and there's a  downfall of role models, WHO will teach the youngsters VALUES?...
